Winners the vocalists contest named after Kulyash Baiseitova announced in Almaty
From March 1 to March 4, the IX Republican vocal competition named after Kulyash Baiseitova was held in Almaty. The idea of the Almaty College of Music, named after P.Tchaikovsky to revive the competition 14 years later was supported by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy.
For the first time the vocal competition was held in 1975.
The competition was attended by more than 100 young performers from all regions of the country aged 16 to 32 years, including students of music schools and professional opera performers.
Note that the purpose of musical competitions was to support young opera singers and to identify the best of them. Moreover, the organizers, having resumed the competition after 14 years, solved such tasks as the revival and popularization among the youth of the names of prominent artists, who made a significant contribution to the development of the national musical culture of Kazakhstan.
- The revival of the competition of Kulyash Baiseitova due to the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy is a unique phenomenon in the musical educational environment of our country. Feeling highly responsible to the talent and merit of the USSR People’s Artist Kulyash Zhasynovna, we made every effort in the implementation of this project. The organizing committee of the competition carried out extensive preparatory work. The selection of participants for the competition took almost four months. Over the course of four days, the strongest and talented performers demonstrated their vocal skills by fighting for the title of laureates of the competition, - said Birzhan Khasangaliyev Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Director of the Almaty College of Music, named after P. Tchaikovsky.
The performances of the contestants were evaluated by famous figures of the country's operatic arts, who themselves became laureates of this competition in different years. Among them, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gulzat Daurbayeva, People's Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gafiz Yesimov and Bazargali Zhamanbayev, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of the Award of the Foundation of the First President Azamat Zheltyrguzov.
By the way, the jury members gave concerts within the framework of the competition and conducted master classes for the participants of the creative competition, generously sharing their experience and knowledge with them.
The names of the Grand Prix holders and laureates of the competition were announced on March 4 at the closing ceremony of the competition. Winners of the Grand Prix: in the older group - the soloist of the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, named after Abay Baluan Berkenov, at the youngest - a student of the Shymkent College of Music - Nurkanat Tapiyev.

It is planned that the competition will become an annual project and will receive international status.
