The Foundation of the First President supported the international Workshop
With the support of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy at the Eurasian National University, named after L.N. Gumilyov hosted an international workshop. The training session is organized in honor of the 10th anniversary of the international department of nuclear physics, new materials and technologies.
The purpose of the event is to introduce the results of the joint work of physicists of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Russia), the Institute of Nuclear Physics (Kazakhstan) and the Eurasian National University, named after L.N. Gumilyov, summing up the 10-year activity of the International Department of Nuclear Physics, new materials and technologies, discussion of future plans for the development of the department.
The event brought together leading physicists from Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as teachers, students, undergraduates and doctoral students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology.
The participants spoke about the projects of the department, the development of hydrogen energy technology in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the prospects for international cooperation in training staff with ENU, named after L.N. Gumilyov and others.
As the first year doctoral student Samal Sarsenova noted, «The international workshop has become an excellent dialogue platform for both venerable nuclear physicists and young scientists. I was glad to be close to the well-known physicists of Kazakhstan and Russia, to listen to their point of view on questions from the field of physics, which I asked more than once, to learn a bit of their rich experience and knowledge. In the course of the workshop, trends in the development of nuclear and applied nuclear physics in Kazakhstan were discussed, a topic from the field of nuclear medicine was raised about the effects of ionizing radiation on the human body, and issues of nuclear physics research on accelerators were considered. The workshop was very informative and useful for everyone».
