Measures to prevent cyberbullying among schoolchildren are scheduled in Almaty
ALMATY. PRESS-SERVICE OF THE FIRST PRESIDENT FOUNDATION – On January 29, in Almaty, the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, will hold a round table on the topic “Prevention of cyberbullying: recommendations and tools for teachers, schoolchildren and parents”. The event partners were Eurasian University of Technology, UN Information Bureau and Department of Education of Almaty City.
The round table is dedicated to protection of the younger generation from cyberbullying (Internet bullying).
The purpose of the round table is to discuss the problems of cyberbullying of children and adolescents, as well as to develop recommendations for the effective prevention of cyberbullying in educational institutions.
The round table will be attended by representatives of state and public organizations in the field of education; information security specialists; psychologists; human rights defenders; lawyers; teachers; school principals; international experts.
Key issues of the round table:
— Child safety in the networks at the intersection of technology and knowledge;
— Psychological support of children with Internet addiction;
— Prevention of cybercrime and promotion of the safe use of the Internet at all levels of education;
— Presentation of cyberbullying prevention and response tools for schools.
Speakers will be: Children’s rights ombudsman in Kazakhstan Aruzhan Sain, Head of the Department of Education of Almaty City, Lyazzat Zhylkybayeva, President of Internet Association of Kazakhstan JLE, Shavkat Sabirov, Head of Sales at Kaspersky Lab – Kazakhstan, Central Asia & Mongolia, Tatyana Pyatina, national coordinator of the global initiative project “Education for Justice (E4J)”, Saule Isabekova, sociologist-lawyer Khalida Azhigulova, psychologist Yuliya Vasilyeva, etc.
It is planned that following the round table, special cyberbullying prevention tools for schoolchildren, parents and teachers will be developed.
