In Nur-Sultan an international legal conference is taking place
The Nazarbayev Center, with the support of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a conference of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) «AIFC Right: Further Steps to Development». The event was organized within the framework of Astana Finance Days.
The conference is one of the largest platforms where current issues and current trends in the resolution of commercial and civil disputes, as well as topical issues relating to current problems in the field of judicial and legislative procedures are discussed. There was an exchange of practical knowledge and professional experience in the field of international law and arbitration.
The conference was attended by representatives of leading international law firms such as Baker & McKenzie, White & Case, Norton Rose Fulbright, Curtis Mallet-Prevost, embassies, foreign associations, universities, professors and lawyers.
Noting the importance of the issues discussed at the conference, the Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Igor Rogov said: «One of the key priorities of state policy is to create the most attractive conditions for doing business. To this end, on the initiative of Elbasy, a unique International Financial Center «Astana» was created. AIFC embodied the best practices of world financial centers. I am confident that the work of today's conference will make a significant contribution to the consolidation of efforts to further strengthen the long-term and mutually beneficial partnership, development and enrichment of the judicial and legal system of Kazakhstan as a whole».
The participants had the opportunity to discuss with international experts the development of the legal profession, recent changes in the AIFC law and aspects of the application of the AIFC law.
Particular attention is paid to the AIFC Court, as a convergence of common and continental law, acting in accordance with the best international standards for resolving civil and commercial disputes in the AIFC.
In general, the conference contributed to the formation of a qualitative dialogue on the convergence of interests in the field of law and the search for optimal ways to build mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
