In the capital, under the auspices of the Institute of World Economy and Politics (IMEP) under the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, a round table was held in conjunction with the global consulting company Whiteshield Partners, dedicated to the development of the agro-industrial complex (AIC) of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Atameken, industry associations and the private sector.

During the Round Table, Whiteshield Partners presented the key results of the sector analysis, global and local trends of various sectors of the agricultural sector.

Participants noted the presence of a number of systemic tasks in the agricultural sector: stability of state support measures, issues of bringing up the necessary infrastructure for enterprises, accessibility of land and water resources.

“A constant dialogue between state organizations and private business at independent expert sites is a prerequisite for the development of Kazakhstan's economy sectors. The round table discussed the development of the agro-industrial complex, which has high potential in terms of export growth, creating sustainable jobs and improving the welfare of the population. Today, about 14% of the workforce is working in the agro-industrial complex, therefore today it is very important to give an additional impetus to the development of this industry by joint efforts. Experts have identified a number of key challenges facing the agro-industrial complex. These include issues of financing, rising costs of agricultural producers, efficient use of land and others. Particular attention is paid to the issue of interagency cooperation of various government agencies for the development of the agricultural sector. It is important to note that the development of this sector, as well as other sectors, is a complex task that goes beyond the competence of the Ministry of Agriculture. Among them: training, customs control, capital availability, logistics infrastructure and much more. Therefore, it is extremely important to ensure the coordination of various bodies in order to achieve common results in the field of agriculture, ”said Sabit Sukhanov, head of the program“ Competitiveness, the Real Sector and Innovations ”of the IMEP under the Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy.

According to experts, the holding of such events stimulates a tripartite dialogue between government agencies, industry associations and representatives of the private sector.
