The Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Asset Issekeshev became the honor guest at the graduation ceremony of undergraduates of the Higher School of Public Policy of Nazarbayev University.

49 graduates of the Higher School received their cherished diplomas. A feature of its activity is that it uses innovative teaching methods that include the main components of the best schools of public policy around the world. Vocational education is given with a focus on practical orientation in economics, political science, international relations, management. Special attention is paid to learning leadership skills.

Also within the framework of the School there is a PhD program in public policy, launched in 2017. It is intended for those who are interested in an academic career or work in research institutions.

Congratulating graduates on graduating from a prestigious university, Asset Issekeshev stressed: «You graduated from university at a very important time for the country. Kazakhstan is currently carrying out modernization and reforms in the economy, in the social sphere, in regional policy and in the system of state administration. And for the successful implementation we need a new generation of state managers. This is always said Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev. It is impossible to successfully build a strong state without competent managers and professionals. I am sure that you will occupy a worthy place in the system of public service and will be able to successfully apply all the knowledge and experience of the practice that you gained during your studies for the benefit of our country».

In turn, the President of the Nazarbayev University Shigeo Katsu urged to always strive for new knowledge and be patriots: «I hope our university has given you the necessary knowledge and skills, but keep learning! Ask yourself questions about the new in your work. Wages are important, but there is another motivation. It is necessary to contribute to the development of society ...».

In general, 963 students, including 565 students of undergraduate programs, 378 students of graduate programs, 14 doctors of medicine (MD) and 6 students of doctoral PhD programs, graduated from the university this year.
