The Foundation of the First President and Apple present the first in Kazakhstan digital laboratory Apple Digital Lab
On November 21, the official opening of the Apple Digital Laboratory at the University Turan will be held in Almaty. The launch of the first in Kazakhstan Apple Digital Lab was supported by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy and the Kazakhstan Marketing Association.
As part of the project, children and youth will have access to educational programs developed by Apple - Everyone Can Code and Everyone Can Create. Programs are aimed at developing the most demanded skills in the near future - these are programming and creativity. This trend was confirmed by the World Economic Forum in the report «The Future of Jobs report 2018».
— In a rapidly changing world, it is very important to keep up with the development of trends in education and career. Experts and analysts from around the world in their research and forecasts report that in 10-15 years today's schoolchildren and students will work in those specialties that do not yet exist. Researchers also note that in the near future, half of the current professions will be replaced by robots and artificial intelligence. Given these factors, the Foundation of the First President through its initiatives and projects seeks to create the necessary conditions for the development of competitiveness of the modern young generation. Support in the opening of the Apple Digital Lab is one of the strategic directions of the Foundation in implementing this mission, — said Sergey Tokhtarov, the Director of the Foundation’s Representative Office in Almaty.
Note that classes in the digital laboratory have been going on since November 15. During this time, the pupils of a special (correctional) boarding school № 2 for children with disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the specialized complex for orphans «Zhanuya» were trained. On November 22, the doors of the digital laboratory will be open to students of the Almaty Regional Orphanage № 1. The participation of youth from social institutions in Apple Digital Lab workshops is an important step on the part of the organizers towards the development of an inclusive society in Kazakhstan.
It is also worth adding that the digital laboratory is focused on the formation of the faculty, able to work in a digital environment - to form and transfer knowledge at the level of today's digital realities. This is a significant factor in the context of the development of human capital under the program «Digital Kazakhstan».
— Today we observe high activity on the part of teachers in integrating digital technologies into the learning process - organizing class work, ensuring student engagement and creating quality educational content. What the First President’s Foundation does in partnership with Turan University is a big step forward in the education market, — said Julia Andreyeva, head of Apple’s educational programs in the CIS countries.
The presentation of the Apple Digital Lab will include a demonstration of the digital laboratory and its capabilities, master classes for the media and a competition for journalists and bloggers. A detailed program is in the attachment.
