Art Samgau International Festival

Art Samgau is an international festival, contest, and hands-on-training for young artists. The main goal of the event is to promote the national and spiritual wealth of the Kazakh people, strengthen creative ties between participants, and discover talents. 

The festival features an exhibition of competition works, master classes, round tables, and training. The cultural program is very rich, guests go on tour around the historic places and sights, concerts, theatres and museums of Almaty.

The competition is held across weaving, ceramics, woodworking, metalworking, leatherworking, painting, and other areas. The jury panel consists of art workers, educators, and media. The commission selects the winners based on their assessment of the originality of the work and the artistic skills.

Art Samgau has been held since 2013 attracting young talents from Kazakhstan, Russia, Bulgaria, Japan, Iran, Egypt, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and other countries.
