Asset Issekeshev met with the President of the Korea Foundation Lee Sihyung

Today, the Nazarbayev Center hosted a meeting between the Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Asset Issekeshev and the President of the Korea Foundation Lee Sihyung.

During the conversation, the parties summed up the international «round table»  «Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. Anti-nuclear experience of Kazakhstan in addressing global challenges», organized by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of World Economy and Politics together with the Korean Foundation.

«We are very interested in the experience of Korea in the field of innovation and new technologies in such areas as education and health care. Effective cooperation between our Funds will provide an opportunity to improve work on supporting talented youth and the development of human capital», said Asset Issekeshev.

For his part, Lee Sihyung noted: «We are attracted to the directions of your Foundation’s work, as well as your country's contribution to the dissemination of the ideas of global disarmament and nuclear security».

The directors expressed their readiness to implement joint projects, the direction of which is indicated in a joint memorandum.

The agreement on cooperation between the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy and the Korea Foundation was signed in August 2018. The memorandum is aimed at ensuring cooperation in the field of human capital development and the establishment of partnerships with Korean institutions, companies in the field of innovation and technology, smart economy and social development.

At the end of the meeting, an introductory tour of the Nazarbayev Center was organized for the guests of the capital.
