The huge potential of Kazakhstan in integrating the most advanced experience in the field of using renewable energy sources has been repeatedly noted by the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. So, in 2017, at the 30-th plenary meeting of the Council of Foreign Investors, Elbasy announced a strategically significant setting - the share of alternative energy in the country's energy balance should increase to 50% by 2050. How to translate this task into reality? This and other issues are on the agenda of the summit.
Along with this, the event helps attract international developers, investors and technology suppliers in the field of renewable energy, as well as leading experts from around the world to exchange experiences.
Opening the summit, the Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Aset Issekeshev noted: «We see how the world is changing. We see the development trends of society - this is artificial intelligence, big data, worldwide digitalization, new materials. And one of the trends, of course, is the development of the green economy as a whole. The development of the country and the provision of a decent quality of life will depend on the implementation of these areas. We, as the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, see our role in the form of support to ministries, governments, associations, the National Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects and others in the following areas. First, the Foundation is ready to support with special scientific grants, prizes, scientific projects in this area. Second, we propose that this summit be held annually and consider not only issues of renewable energy, but also issues in the complex, from the point of view of the «green economy» as a whole. We propose that the main priority is to identify resource conservation in construction and agriculture and to examine in detail these areas at the summit».
During the Summit, a special presentation of startup projects in the field of renewable energy to potential investors will take place.
As a result of the event, a resolution will be adopted that will reflect key areas, aspects and recommendations for the development of the renewable energy industry in Kazakhstan.
The summit is organized by the Association of Renewable Energy of Kazakhstan and the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy.
