The Social Entrepreneurship Training Held in Almaty
The three-day training «Social Entrepreneurship as a New Stage in the Development of the Non-Profit Sector» was held in Almaty. A series of practical exercises for NGO representatives is part of a large-scale project of the Almaty Civil Center. It is being implemented on a grant from the First President’s Foundation, received as a result of the Social Ideas and Projects Fair «Zamannyn` ziatker jastary vision of the future».
The trend for social entrepreneurship in recent years has been actively developing around the world. For a social entrepreneur, profit is not the main thing. Effective projects that benefit and solve social problems are paramount for him. This is helping people, taking care of the environment, and creating jobs for people with disabilities and orphans.
Social entrepreneurship differs from charity in its focus on financial sustainability through the sale of goods or the provision of services, rather than donations.
As part of the training, the expert on social innovation, innovative design and social journalism Nurzhan Alzhanova taught participants how to conduct social entrepreneurship. She told NGO representatives about creating ideas and managing processes in the social business. She also dedicated the training participants to knowledge on impact fundraising marketing and investment design. The students examined in detail the cash flows and models of financial transactions in social entrepreneurship.
