Favorite songs of the war years: a musical gift for veterans in honor of Victory Day
In Almaty, in the large concert hall of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy, a concert dedicated to Victory Day was held. «Smuglyanka», «Katyusha», «Blue handkerchief» - these and many other songs were performed by famous Kazakhstani artists for veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers. A concert of favorite front-line songs in honor of Victory Day was organized by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, together with the humanitarian fund «Degdar».
The first charity concert to the Victory Day even 18 years ago gave Dariga Nazarbayeva. Her initiative was picked up by the best representatives of the creative intelligentsia, making such concerts a good tradition on the eve of a significant date. Every year the performances are a real musical gift for the witnesses of that terrible war.
The guests of the festive concert on the square in front of the large concert hall of the Conservatory, named after Kurmangazy were greeted by the sounds of the May waltz. The cadets of the military schools and the National Guard brass band «Ulttyk Ulan» joined the congratulations of the veterans.
The touching repertoire of the war years was touching upon the audience by the laureates of the Prize of the First President Foundation and honored workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the winners of republican and international competitions. Baritone Azamat Zheltyrguzov, tenor Medet Chotabayev, soprano Gulzat Daurbayeva, violinist Dinara Bazarbayeva-Sakhaman and renowned pianist Timur Urmancheyev to the accompaniment of the State Orchestra «Camerata Kazakhstan» performed «In the City Garden», «Black-eyed Kasachka», «Wait for Me» and many other favorite compositions.
On the eve of the concert, employees of the Foundation of the First President visited Almaty veterans, who were given material support and food baskets on behalf of the organization.
