The festival of ballet schools «Orleu» - a springboard for young and talented
The 5th international festival of ballet schools «Orleu», dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Almaty Choreographic School, named after A. Seleznev, took place in Almaty from 11 to 13.
This year, the project of the Foundation of the First President and the Almaty Choreographic School, named after A.Seleznev celebrated his first round date. The best choreographers of near and far abroad gathered at the fifth festival of ballet schools in Almaty. For three days the legendary «seleznevka» turned into a beautiful dance festival.
From the first day of creative life «Orleu», the Foundation of the First President supports the idea of the Almaty Choreographic School. The idea that has become a brand is a calling card of two organizations united by the mission to identify and support young people truly loyal to the high art.
- It is symbolic that the fifth festival coincided with the year of youth in Kazakhstan announced by Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev. Interests, desires and potential of Kazakhstani youth are in the focus of attention of the whole country. New roads and opportunities in the form of contests, grants and festivals in many ways contribute to the disclosure of the deep and limitless potential of young Kazakhstanis, making them competitive and real masters of their work, said Sergey Tokhtarov, the Director of the Representative Office of the Foundation of the First President in Almaty. - It is gratifying that we are successfully coping with this task and this is not the first year for this festival. The first contestants and participants of the festival «Orleu», fully surrendering to their vocation, glorify their ballet school, the names of teachers and the flag of their homeland throughout the world.
All days of the festival were held in an atmosphere of creation and cultural interchange. Exhibitions, workshops and rehearsals - the festival created all the conditions for its participants to create, absorb knowledge and be inspired by the example of older colleagues.
The rich program of the festival was represented by the following events - the Kazakh stage costume exposition «The Time of the Connecting Thread», the photo exhibition «The Way to the Dance», the art exhibition «The Colors of the Dance», the conference «Modern Art and Education in the Era of Globalization», the round table «Presentation of the school and prospects development of choreographic education - Ballet of the XXI century», the presentation of the film «Almaty Choreographic School named after A.V. Seleznev today» and master classes for students of choreographic areas.
The festive festival ended with a gala concert on the stage of the State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, named after Abay. By the way, the gala concert was opened by the laureate of the Award of the Foundation of the First President, the winner of the project «100 New Faces of Kazakhstan», choreographer Anvara Sadykova under the name «Turan Dala - Kyran Dala». The ballet is based on the tales and myths of the Kazakh people.
«Orleu» became an important stage for young choreographers from near and far abroad - a kind of springboard to a great creative way. Along with the eponymous contest, the festival has taken a strong position not only in the systemic and traditional projects of our Foundation, but also on the cultural map of Kazakhstan.
