One of such opportunities is provided through the competition «Nazarbayev Fund Schools Challenge» of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is gratifying that the project received a high return from school students. In the three years of its implementation, 1 500 young people from all regions of the country were involved in the competition».
The competition consists of 2 stages: regional and republican selection rounds.
This year, in the course of a regional tour, about 100 best teams (500 participants) selected 17 finalist teams (85 participants).
They won the right to get into the final selection and today presented their projects to the jury members. The jury evaluated the practicality of projects, the quality of presentation of ideas, the level of use of English.
Participants presented their work in the field of technical and engineering specialties: transport and logistics oil and gas, engineering, architecture and construction, mining and processing of raw materials, biotechnology, chemical industry, IT, biotechnology, robotics and others.
The winning team of the competition, as well as 2 students from each finalist team in August 2019 will go on a week-long educational trip to the University of Cranfield (United Kingdom) - one of the leading universities in the world in the field of aerospace design and the development of "green" technologies.
Such an internship for our children will be an invaluable experience and impetus for the further development of their ideas.
It should be noted that many winners and finalists of previous years entered the leading Kazakhstan and foreign technical universities. The competition helped them choose their future profession and improve their English proficiency.
One of the clearest examples of the positive effect of the competition is the victory of Evgeny Demidenko from Kyzylorda. He is a participant in last year's competition «Nazarbayev Fund Schools Challenge», which created a new concept of the aircraft as part of the assignment for the competition.
Subsequently, the concept was acquired by one of the world's largest manufacturers of aviation, space and military equipment - the American company The Boeing Company.
