How the Elbasy Foundation promotes the development of high-quality education in Kazakhstan
ALMATY. PRESS-SERVICE OF THE FIRST PRESIDENT FOUNDATION. 24.01.20 – In advance of the International Day of Education, which is celebrated today, January 24, the Republican Forum “Fresh Angle on Education and Training” was held at the Kazakh National Women’s Pedagogical University. Participants of a major event noted the important role of education in achieving all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) until 2030.
Speaking at the session “The Role of Education in SDGs”, Zhanar Temirbekova, member of the Council for Science under the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, Rector of the Eurasian Technological University, emphasized the contribution of young people to implementing SDG-2030. The speaker also presented individual programs of the Foundation, which promote the competitiveness of young Kazakhstan citizens and motivate them to get high-quality education.
— For example, the Foundation has founded a motivational scholarship program for students, thanks to which each year 80 of the best, gifted and creative youth representatives gained our support. In addition, Elbasy Foundation holds student festival “Tiregi sender elimnіn”, where participants can develop their emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial competencies, and learn to work in a team. As part of this program, we support the business ideas of Kazakhstan youth through allocation of grants for the implementation of projects, as well as mentor their startups. It is worth noting individually the research competitions, the Best Council of Young Scientists and Scientists of the Future. That is, for the development of high-quality education in Kazakhstan, namely the achievement of SDG No. 4, huge work is being carried out in the Foundation, — said Zh. Temirbekova.
ETU Rector also shared the successful experience of his university in implementing projects aimed at achieving SDGs in the field of inclusive education, gender equality and human rights.
Additionally, the Forum was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of international and domestic educational organizations, university teachers, psychologists and teachers.
