The Elbasy Foundation awarded the authors of the best literary works
The V ceremony of awarding the winners of the Altyn tobylgy writing competition was held in the Nazarbayev Center.
The competition of the Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy is held annually for young poets and writers aged 18 to 35 years.
The project is aimed at promoting interest in contemporary literature, stimulating creative activity of young people.
Every year, interest in the competition steadily increases. This year 170 compositions were submitted, while in 2015, 120 compositions were submitted.
The selection of the best works was carried out in five categories in this year: ‘Best prose of the year’, ‘Best poetry of the year’, ‘Best children work of the year’, ‘Best drama of the year’ and special nomination ‘Best work, devoted to year of youth ‘Uly Delanyn zhasampas urpagy’.
The jury, which included well-known cultural leaders of the country, journalists and writers, evaluated the works, highlighting the artistic narrative style, the depth of emotional and aesthetic impact, the consistency of the authors' thoughts, the originality of the idea and so on.
Summing up the results of the competition during the awards ceremony, Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Asset Issekeshev noted: ‘In his article 'The Course towards Future: Modernization of Public Conscience', former President Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that for the successful development of the country it is important to preserve national identity, our traditions and culture. I am convinced that this is possible, including with the support of such talented creative youth as the finalists of Altyn tobylgy competition. The Elbasy Foundation implements a number of initiatives for our youth. It is a good opportunity to prove yourself. I wish successes to the winners of our competition’!
Asset Orentaevich, members of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, prominent public and culture leaders awarded authors of the best works with well-deserved awards.
According to the results of the Altyn tobylgy competition the winners the following persons were recognized:
- ‘Best prose of the year’ - Kanat Abulkhair, Doskhan Zhylkybay;
- ‘Best children work of the year’ - Marat Seilkhanov, Assylan Tilegen, Miras Assan.
Each of the above-mentioned winners received 1 million tenge.
The winners of the nominations ‘Best poetry of the year’ and ‘Best drama of the year’ won 2 million tenge eachn maley Bekzat Smadiarov and Arshin Nurbakov.
Nurtas Turganbek won in the nomination ‘Best work, devoted to year of youth ‘Uly Delanyn zhasampas urpagy’. He was awarded a certificate of 3 million tenge.
