The Foundation of Elbasy celebrated the 10th anniversary of the festival of creative youth «ZhasSTAR»
The grand musical concert was held in Almaty in honor of the tenth anniversary of the festival of creative youth «ZhasSTAR». Young talented Kazakhstani people performed cult hits from world musicals. 12 unusual and beautiful musical stories were seen by fans of this difficult stage genre. The platform for demonstrating the unique capabilities and unlimited potential of vocalists, choreographers, stage designers, decorators and designers was provided by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy. The City Administration of Almaty and the company «Tandau» supported the anniversary festival.
- For ten years, the ZhasSTAR festival has been successfully fulfilling its main tasks - it creates the necessary conditions for identifying talents and sharing the experience of leading cultural figures with promising youth of the country, and also motivates project participants for further professional growth. Without false modesty, I note that the festival has established itself as the only one of its kind platform for the creative start of gifted youth. «ZhasSTAR» lights the stars that shine around the world, glorifying national culture in the international arena, said Igor Rogov, the Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of the of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his welcoming speech.
Yerzhan Babakumarov, the deputy akim of Almaty, also made a congratulatory speech to the participants of the festival and the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy. He noted the significant contribution of the Foundation to the support and development of talented Kazakhstani youth.
- All programs and initiatives of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, promoting the development of human capital and increasing the competitiveness of young specialists in science and culture, are popular among young people and are of great practical importance. This festival is a vivid confirmation of this. A few years ago, artists taking the first step in their careers came to «ZhasSTAR» cultural and educational sites as participants, and today they themselves demonstrate a high class of what they learned and absorbed thanks to this project.
Over the years, screenwriter and film director Yegor Konchalovsky, musician and producer Baigali Serkebayev, conductor of the Paris Opera National Orchestra Philip Yui, famous stylist M. Lamin, First Violin, shared their experience and knowledge with the creative youth of Kazakhstan, participants in the festival «ZhasSTAR», Soloist of the Moscow Virtuosi Orchestra Alexey Lundin and others. Each of them left a lasting impression on the life path of the project participants. Master classes, creative lectures, trainings and workshops, which were held by famous speakers, have become an excellent help for young Kazakhstanis in the implementation of their innovative ideas and projects in the field of culture and art.
The Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aktoty Raimkulova, on behalf of whom the text of the congratulation was read out on the stage of the Palace of the Republic, is sure that the good tradition of the Foundation of the First President to help develop creative youth will continue. She wished that all bright undertakings of Kazakhstani youth find support. The head of the ministry also added that the international festival «ZhasSTAR», thanks to its responsible mission, contributes significantly to the development of art in the country and its popularization abroad.
The main part of the festive program of the tenth festival «ZhasSTAR» was prepared by the most creative youth, including vocalists, choreographers, choir artists, decorators, designers and stage designers. These are project participants of different years, as well as grant holders and fellows of the Foundation of the First President. All of them are students and graduates of creative educational institutions of Kazakhstan: Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy, Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T.K.Zhurgenov, Almaty College of Music named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, Almaty School of Choreography named after A.V. Seleznev, the University «Turan».
The concert was also dedicated to the announced Year of Youth in Kazakhstan. It was held in the format of «Broadway musical shows». Its participants performed the most famous hits from world musicals. Spectators of the grand show nostalgic for Alma-Ata of the 60-70s together with the artists of the musical «Dostar sertі», sympathized with the sad love stories of Romeo and Juliet, went to Chicago with singer Zharkynay Khanayim, singing energetic Nurgul Nugmanova with her incendiary performance «Circle of Life» from «The Lion King», danced with the funny guys from «La La Land», circled the streets of the Arab city with Aladdin, whose role Alibek Surabaldinov masterfully mastered.
One of the brightest numbers this evening presented the fans of the group «ABBA» with the music band «Cashew», singing the popular song «Mamma mia». However, a real gift for the guests of the anniversary festival was the sudden appearance on the stage of Nagima Eskaliyeva, Aizhan Nurmagambetova and Aigul Babayeva. Recognized masters of the big stage held a kind of master class for their young colleagues, performing the famous song «Dancing Queen». The hall moved to the beat of your favorite music.
The concert ended with the life-affirming composition «This is me» from the musical «The Greatest Showman» performed by Tolganai Pazylakyn.
It should be noted that the current festival, which demonstrated the synthesis of several areas of art in one genre at once, showed the result of the fruitful work of the Foundation of the First President to identify and support the talented youth of the country.
- I am sure that in ten years «ZhasSTAR» will become the main creative platform of Kazakhstan. The names of today's project participants, who will grow into true masters in ten years, will still be revealed to the general public. And in the starry sky «ZhasSTAR» many more new talents will light up. There is no doubt about it! - said on the sidelines of the festival Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Culture Council under the First President’s Foundation Birzhan Khasangaliyev.
