The first Republican robotics championship among universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan «IITU Robocon 2019» will be held in Almaty
February 15, 2019 / Friday / in Almaty will be held the first Republican championship in robotics among universities «IITU Robocon 2019», organized by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy and the center of competence in robotics – International Information Technology University (IITU).
Student competitions in robotics will be held as part of the Year of Youth and in honor of the 10th anniversary of the IITU.
The Championship «IITU Robocon 2019» is a competition between university robotics teams based on the Arduino platform (microcontroller). Its peculiarity is that it enables young scientists to assemble robots from scratch: from design to programming (design, mechanics, electronics, writing a robot’s intelligence program).
In the center of competence in robotics IITU assure that, having mastered the technology of development of robots at Arduino, the participant of the championship will be able to work as a junior laboratory assistant in any scientific institute engaged in science in the field of IT, electronics and robotics.
– It is noteworthy that with its content and scope «IITU Robocon 2019» corresponds to one of the five key areas of the state program «Digital Kazakhstan», contributing to the creation of a creative society and the transition to new realities of a digital state. The championship set the bar high – to prepare students engaged in science and technology to work in the field of information technology, electronics and robotics. I am sure that this good mission, aimed at the professional orientation of young Kazakhstanis, is feasible and will have its continuation and development, said Sergey TOKHTAROV, Director of the Office of the First President’s Foundation in Almaty.
The organizers also note that the goal of the championship is to give the participants modern technical knowledge for the further implementation of their start-up projects and active participation in the innovation activities of Kazakhstan.
15 teams will gather on the playing field in the Halyk Arena to compete for the title of champion in the field of robotics. The winners will be awarded valuable prizes, including a 3D printer and a quadrocopter.
Note that the team of the IITU is an eight-time participant of the Asia-Pacific robot competition of the non-profit professional association ABU Robocon.
