Centers for Children with Autism «Qamqorlyk»

From 2015 to 2023, the number of children with autism in Kazakhstan increased 8.8 times (data from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
To help such children adapt, within the framework of the «Qamqorlyk» initiative, 7 individual development centers for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) were opened in 2023-2024. The project is implemented with the support of JSC «Samruk-Kazyna», the «Kazakhstan Khalkyna» Foundation, and akimats. Work is currently underway to open 3 more centers.
The program of the centers was developed with the participation of experts and is based on the best practices of three leading autism centers in the USA. Children with ASD have access to more than 20 types of assistance: ABA therapy, occupational therapy, kinesitherapy, art and music therapy, occupational therapy, sensory integration, and social and household adaptation. Specialists work with children, their parents, and conduct sessions with psychologists, speech therapists, and defectologists. Specialist training in 14 programs is provided by the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation.
The centers help children unlock their potential and successfully adapt to life in society.
