In the Brazilian capital of Brasilia, took place the presentation of the book of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev «The Era of Independence», translated into Portuguese language. The book tells about the stages of the formation and development of Kazakhstan and its role in the international arena.

«The Era of Independence» is the first Kazakh book translated into Portuguese language.

The presentation of the historical work of Elbasy is organized by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Brazil with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil.

The event was attended by members of the National Congress, the head of the Brazil-Kazakhstan parliamentary friendship group, Senator Chico Rodriguez, Senator Cristovam  Buarque, Brazilian Deputy Foreign Minister for Communication and Culture, Marcia Donner, Director of the Department of Russia and Central Asia of the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, Ari Quintella, Roberto Goydanish, President of the Alexander de Gusmao Foundation for Economic and Political Studies; Demetrio Carvalho, Deputy Director of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, and others representatives of the Brazilian Foreign Minister, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Brasilia, public figures, academic and business circles, as well as media representatives.

Opening the event, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcia Donner praised the Portuguese translation of the book by President Nursultan Nazarbayev, whose life and work are closely linked to the independence and development of modern Kazakhstan. «Being an ambassador in Kazakhstan, I had the opportunity to personally observe the achievements, growth and development of Kazakhstan’s society - a wonderful and proud people with its beautiful traditions. I hope that this book will contribute to the improvement of mutual relations and friendship between Brazil and Kazakhstan», concluded Deputy Minister.

Presenting the work of the Head of State, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Kairat Sarzhanov, stressed that «The Era of Independence» was the first Kazakhstani book translated into Portuguese. «The work of the Head of State not only reveals the unknown facts of modern history of Kazakhstan, but also reflects the character of our President, his decisive, pragmatic and far-sighted policy in building and managing modern statehood», the Kazakhstani diplomat said.

The head of the Brazil-Kazakhstan parliamentary friendship group, Senator Chico Rodriguez, said that the presentation of the book «The Era of Independence» in Portuguese shows a friendly relationship between Kazakhstan and Brazil.

In his speech, the Director of the Department of Russia and Central Asia Ari Quintella focused on the fact that Kazakhstan take a very special position in the international arena. «The fact that the presentation of the book by the Head of the Republic of Kazakhstan takes place in the auditorium of the Center for Economic and Strategic Research of «The Foundation of Alexander de Gusmao» at the Brazilian Foreign Ministry confirms the Fund’s commitment to studying a wide range of topics in international relations. The Portuguese-language edition of the book will undoubtedly reach a wide Brazilian audience and will be especially popular among the academic circles of our country», Ari Quintella added.

Alkey Margulanuly, a staff member of the Foundation of the First President for International Cooperation, thanked the guests for their interest in studying the history of Kazakhstan and noted that the book of the founder of modern Kazakhstani statehood will allow them to learn first-hand about the main stages of the development of an independent Kazakhstan and the most important principles of the management model of the Head of Kazakhstan. «The book of the leader of Kazakhstan allows everyone to find their perusal, its uniqueness in that it is focused on wide coverage, the book tells about the past and helps to take a fresh look at the future of Kazakhstan», he said.

As part of the presentation, the Photo Exhibition «Unknown Kazakhstan» was organized by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the cultural part of the program was presented, during which a talented Kazakhstani musician, kobyz-player, young composer Almat Sayzhan performed charming Kazakh melodies on various instruments.
