1000 Kazakhstani school children receive gifts by September 1 from the Foundation of Elbasy
As part of the nationwide campaign «Road to School», 1000 Kazakhstani schoolchildren received backpacks with a sports uniform from the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy. The purpose of the annual campaign is to support students from low-income and large families during preparation for the beginning of the school year, as well as to prevent children from appearing at school on September 1 for social reasons.
Personal assistance to children is carried out according to the lists provided by the education departments of local administration.
The Foundation of the First President has supported this socially oriented initiative for 10 years. During this time, about 9 000 children from all over the republic received material support from the Fund in the form of school bags and stationery. This year, at the request of many parents, stationery was replaced with a sports uniform.
In 2018, the action was held during the inclusive children's festival «Aman Keleshek», organized by the Foundation of Elbasy. The slogan of the festival last year was: «The road to school for all children».
This year, school bags were solemnly presented at the Republican Creative Festival «Symbolism of Birds in the Culture of the Great Steppe» - the winner of the contest of social ideas of the Foundation of the First President. It took place on the twentieth of August in the village of Korgalzhyn, Akmola region. At the festival, backpacks were received by 500 schoolchildren from various regions of Kazakhstan. Among them, orphans, children left without parental care, children with disabilities and children from large families.
— I have eight children, and four of them are of school age. The campaign «Road to School» is a very tangible and necessary support. My children are very happy with beautiful backpacks and sports uniforms, — the mother of many children, Gulmira Niyazova, thanked the organizers.
On the eve of Knowledge Day, children from large and low-income families of Almaty became the owners of another 500 school bags.
— Our union unites 1,000 families with many children. Many families have 5-6 school-age children, — says Zhanar Mamedova, the deputy chairman of the board of the Union of mothers with many children of the Auezov District. — Each large family that has received help feels concern from the side of society and confidence in the future. We express our gratitude to the Foundation of Elbasy. Your support has found a good response and kind words of gratitude from mothers with many children. Your attention and participation is a great contribution to the development of charity in our country.
Note that the schoolbag models are equipped with reflective elements. Such an important detail is the guarantee of the safety of the student at dusk and when crossing the road. In addition to sports uniforms, each backpack has a basic set of things necessary in any emergency: safety memo, flashlight, whistle.

Your help is not just a gift to the child, it is a contribution to the formation of a new personality, to the upbringing of the nobility and generosity of young citizens of our country, — said Juliya Kuzmina, a mother of many children from Almaty.
We add that for today, the Foundation of the First President, participating in the «Road to School» charity event, has gathered children for school in the metropolitan areas of Nur Sultan and Almaty and in the following cities, including small ones: Karatau, Zhanatas (Zhambyl region), Shardara, Abay (Turkestan region), Urzhar (East Kazakhstan region), Sarkand (Almaty region), Aralsk, Kazalinsk (Kyzylorda region), Semey, Kurchatov (East Kazakhstan region), Kulsary (Atyrau region), Fort Shevchenko, Zhanaozen (Mangistau region), Zhitikara, Lisakovsk (Kostanay region), Bulayevo, Mamlyutka (North Kazakhstan region), Temirtau, Abay, Shakhtinsk, Mustafino (Karaganda region), Karaganda, Temirtau, Kostanay and Petropavlovsk. Thus, school bags were handed over to children not only from cities, but also from remote villages of these regions of the country.
