Hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren of Kazakhstan take part in the Hour of Code campaign
Hour of Code, a large-scale campaign continues in Kazakhstan. During this week, pupils of the country are taught the basics of programming.
The organizers of the action are the Foundation of the First President of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, the Ministry of education of Kazakhstan, as well as partners of the campaign -Alem.school, Love to code, Method Digital Education and others made sure that such lessons were built on the basis of easy communication and playful forms of work.
The campaign covers pupils from grades 3 to 11.
Participants of the campaign, with the support of mentors, try to create the first algorithms and solve logical problems.
During the visit to such classes, Deputy Executive Director of the Elbasy Foundation Alkey Magulanuly, addressing the pupils said: ‘Hour of Code campaign helps pupils to understand the importance of the ability to manage digital systems, have concepts of programming. Every year digitalization penetrates more and more into all spheres of life. The more competitive, in-demand specialist will be the one who knows new software better. In the future wherever you work, almost everywhere you will need to know the basics of programming, creating applications, be able to work with the latest software. Some of you can become a successful IT specialist, thanks to the Hour of Code. Remember always that your work today at school is the basis of a successful adult life and prosperity of the country’.
Let us remember that the Hour of Code is held in more than 180 countries. In Kazakhstan, the campaign covers more and more schoolchildren every year. If in 2015 more than 74 thousand children took part in cognitive lessons, in 2018, their number was more than 355 thousand. This year, the organizers plan to exceed the coverage of the previous year.
