The "Abai Alemi" competition for the best scientific work among students and undergraduates is dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the poet, composer and educator Abai Kunanbayev.

The organizers of the competition, the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation and the State Language Development Fund, selected over 100 scientific papers from different regions of Kazakhstan.

The works reflected research on Abai's work in the context of his influence on Kazakh literature, on the literary traditions laid down by the poet. A lot of works are devoted to the analysis of the forms of reflection in the works of the thinker of national spiritual values, textual criticism of Abai's poems, etc.

- By organizing this competition, we aimed to popularize the heritage of the great Kazakh thinker Abai, to identify and support talented young scientists and their work. Thus, we contribute to the strengthening of traditions, moral values ​​and the unique creativity of the people in society, - said Alkey Margulan, Deputy Executive Director of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation.

It was not easy for the members of the jury, which included well-known public figures, scholars, Abaeologists, poets, to determine the winners of the competition. Indeed, a large number of works of the contestants were distinguished by the originality of ideas, consistency and clarity of presentation.

As a result of the selection the best of the best, the winners of the competition were:

- among students - the 1st place took Azimbek Koylybai, a 2nd year student of al-Farabi KazNU. He became the owner of a special diploma and an award of 300,000 tenge. A special diploma and a prize 200,000 tenge for two 2nd places were awarded to Atabay Kuanyshov, a 4th year student of the Eurasian Humanitarian Institute, and Nurai Gazizov, a 2nd year student at Karaganda State University named after E.A. Buketov. 3rd places were awarded to Nazgul Aisenova, a 4th year student of the Kokshetau State University named after Sh. Ualikhanova, Gulsimay Sairambek - 3rd year student of Karaganda State University named after. E.A. Buketova, Moldir Bizhanova - 2nd year student at Nazarbayev University. They were awarded 100,000 tenge.

- among the undergraduate students - the 1st place was won by the 1st year master student of the Caspian State University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh. Yessenova - Mustafa Shokhaev. He won a diploma and a prize 400,000 tenge. II places were taken by the 2nd year masters student of the al-Farabi KazNU, the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy Abay Myrzagali and Sherkhan Mukhambetzhanov respectively. As a prize, young people received 300,000 tenge.

Three III places went to Kaliakbar Ksemkhanuly - 1st year master student of the University of Turan-Astana, Akbota Kazhybekova - 2nd year master student of Zhetysu State University named after I. Zhansugurova and Zeinegul Zhumabekova - 1st year master student of Zhetysu State University named after I. Zhansugurova. They were awarded 200,000 tenge each.
