Olympiad among students of creative specialties will be held in Almaty
April 1 / Monday / XI Republican Student Olympiad among students of creative specialties starts in Almaty. The organizers of the project aimed at identifying and promoting talented youth are the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh National Conservatory, named after Kurmangazy.
Students of creative universities and music faculties of universities will compete in the following seven areas (specialties): «Traditional Musical Art», «Instrumental Performance», «Art Management», «Music Education», «Conducting», «Composition» and «Vocal Art».
Sergey Tokhtarov, Director of the Representative Office of the Foundation of the First President in Almaty, noted that support for creative young people is one of the priorities of the Foundation’s activities, which is provided on a systematic basis. «It is symbolic that the Olympiad is held in the Year of Youth, in the new era for Kazakhstan, announced by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasa Nursultan Nazarbayev. The brightest and most ambitious ideas are born precisely at a young age. Knowledge, skills and abilities of young people is the most important and expensive resource of any nation. Olympiad is another opportunity to learn, create, expand the boundaries of their knowledge. I am sure that it will reveal future generations of talented musicians», he noted.
The main goal of the Olympiad is the selection and support of talented and gifted students, the development of their professional abilities and the stimulation of scientific and cognitive activity among creative young people. More than 350 applications from students from Aktau, Aktobe, Almaty, Atyrau, Kokshetau, Kyzylorda, Nur-Sultan, Semey, Ust-Kamenogorsk and Shymkent were submitted this year to participate in the project.
Also within the framework of the XI Republican Olympiad for students of specialized schools and music colleges, a small Olympiad in nine creative specialties will be held.
- The undoubted uniqueness of this project lies in the fact that the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy, being one of the main centers of higher professional music education in Kazakhstan, is becoming a launching pad for the creative youth of the country. I am grateful that the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy provides tremendous support to our projects and initiatives aimed at developing the unlimited potential of talented young Kazakhstanis, - said the Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Rector of KNC, named after Kurmangazy Arman Zhudebayev.
Note that the jury will include the best representatives of culture and art of the Kazakh National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy, and other leading creative educational institutions and cultural institutions of the country. Creative competitions will be held within the walls of the Conservatory named after Kurmangazy and will last until April 18.
The program of the opening ceremony of the Olympiad will include works by G. Miller, P. Tchaikovsky, T. Abdinurov, O. Giyelo, S. Rakhmaninov, Estay, and others.
