On January 16, the city of Sarkand in the Zhetisu region hosted the grand opening of a new rehabilitation center. The event was attended by Deputy Akim of the Region Marlen Kolbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the "Qazaqstan Halqyna" Public Fund Lazzat Chinkisbaeva, and Deputy Executive Director of the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation Alkey Margulanuly.

Based at Sarkand Central District Hospital, the fourth district rehabilitation center "QH" has begun operations to support children with disabilities. Each year, the center will serve up to 600 children with neuro-orthopedic disorders from Sarkand, Alakol, and Aksu districts.

Collaboration for a Greater Cause

The center's opening was made possible through the joint efforts of the Zhetisu Regional Akimat, the "Qazaqstan Halqyna" Fund, and the Nursultan Nazarbayev Foundation.

• The Akimat provided the building and carried out major renovations according to a unified design concept to create comfortable rehabilitation conditions for children.
• The "Qazaqstan Halqyna" Fund fully financed the center's state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment.

Modern Rehabilitation Equipment

Key equipment at the center includes:

Additionally, the center features a sensory room, a salt chamber, and a shungite therapy room.

• Neurologists
• Rehabilitation therapists
• Speech therapists
• Physical therapy instructors

A Step Towards Inclusive Healthcare

"Opening such centers allows families to access qualified assistance close to home, saving time and resources. This is another step toward building accessible, high-quality medical infrastructure for children with disabilities in rural areas," stated Arailim Erkinova, Director of the "Qamqorlyk Qory" Foundation.

The center is part of the "QH District Rehabilitation Centers" project, which aims to develop rural healthcare infrastructure and provide local rehabilitation services. An additional 16 centers are planned to open nationwide as part of this initiative.
